| The Iron Horse | Competition: Rules & Guidelines Hello and welcome to our first of two Cheltenham Festival Competitions 2009 – Sponsored by PaddyPower! We have been given a prize of £200 in Free Bets to be rolled out in our Competitions so I’ve decided to split it into two and have two lots of £100 Free Bets for the winner of each respective competition. This is the first time we’ve been sponsored by Paddy Power and hopefully this will be the start of a solid partnership between us and them, it will surely help the site develop having their interest in us I’m sure you will all agree. The competition will be run on our mother site OHRacing.net, and will be run on the forums, you can access it from here: The Cheltenham Festival vBookie Competition The competition will span over the four days of the Cheltenham Festival and you will be able to begin tipping in the competition as and from Monday 2nd March, 8 days before “The Festival” is due to begin, so you have plenty of time to get your thoughts together and into print. It is very simple to get involved, all you need to do is register in our ‘Sign Up Thread’ which is located inside the Competition Forum, or if you are too lazy to click a mouse button, you can access it here: Competition: The Sign Up Thread The Rules *There will be 10 markets throughout this competition to bet on, 8 races from The Festival, and two other markets. These will be the Top Trainer and Top Jockey at the Festival Markets. * Each member will be given 3500 vCash points at the start of the competition; these are to be used as follows. 250vCash points per selected race market and then 500vCash points on each of the Top Trainer and Top Jockey at The Festival markets. Anyone who doesn’t follow this procedure could have their selections voided and their place in the competition nulled, so please read the rules carefully. There will also be a thread opened with the ‘NAP of the Festival’ you can post your selection in here, and your reasoning as to why it’s your Nap of the Festival. Your NAP will command 500vCash points so make sure it’s a good one! * Each selection made will also require a detailed reason as to why you have chosen this horse. A few lines would be ample for this; this is to generate a bit of debate on the forums and to show us how good your knowledge really is. Any entries without reasoning will be voided and any winnings shall too be void. * Selections made between now and the run up to The Festival will be on a NRNB basis, meaning if you back for example Karabak in the Supreme Novices Hurdle at 16-1, and he runs in the Ballymore Properties Novices Hurdle, you will be refunded your 250vCash points. * All odds our taken from competition sponsor PaddyPower.com, and no other firms prices will be accepted for a wager in this competition. * If in the event of a tie at the end of the competition, the parties involved can either agree to split the money evenly between them or can attempt to take all in a Bonus Race selected by The Duke on Saturday 14th March 2009. * Only one entry per household, and strictly no editing of posts after 1pm on Tuesday 10th March, any posts edited after this time will make selections null and void and irrelevant in terms of the competition. * Due to the vBookie software only being able to take Win Bets Only, this competition is a ‘Win Only’ competition. Meaning you will only be able to back your selections to win, and not each-way. Our other competition you will be able to do each-way betting if this is your preferred method of choice. * Finally please read the rules carefully, and the very best of luck to all participants. Regards, The Duke |
