| Back From The Dead Join Date: Sep 2006 | I like to go for a 5yo that's only had one run and won. With the amount of nice bumper horses Willie Mullins has this year, I find it hard to see him not winning it. Out of his theres: Gagewell Flyer Not For Converting Quel Esprit Theres words going round that Sicilian Secret is his bumper horse this year but I'm not convinced. At the moment I like Quel Esprit, but will make a decision on the day. After looking at the previous runnings of the bumper, it looks as though Mullins does better when he doesn't have multiple runners, so it looks as though when he enters loads up he doesn't have anything that stands out, maybe? Also after looking at it, the market isn't a guide in this race, as when one of Mullins has won, on all but one or two occasions it's been one that hasn't been supported as well as another of his runners. It seems as though punters jump on the one that Ruby's riding. I'll probably go for the one that Paul Townend rides, If Mullins does have a good one this year, I reckon he'll have him on it. |

| Back From The Dead Join Date: Sep 2006 | Been looking at this again and although the jockey bookings might suggest otherwise, I think Gagewell Flyer could be the winner. Will probably back Meath All Star e/w even though its a 6yo, but Paul Townend provides most of Mullins bumper winners and I reckon he'd want him on his leading chance. Another thing I've noticed is that if a good candidate for the bumper is found, it's put away and doesn't run that year. Morning Supreme, Gagewell Flyer and Meath All Star all fall into that category. At the moment I'm strongly against Sicilian Secret. |

| Low Grade Handicapper Join Date: Apr 2007 Location: West Midlands | I'm against Sicilian Secret for the simple reason that Willie Mullins has publicly stated that it's his best bumper horse. He played games with Hurricane Fly, he played games with Cousin Vinny and the course workout he gave his bumper string not so long ago was laughable as a means of determining rank. Dunguib looks an absolute monster to me and I'm happy taking the 7/1. I've also had a little each-way on Henry King of Victor Dartnall's. Last edited by talkingspeedway; 11-03-09 at 01:15 AM.. |
