| World Class Join Date: Sep 2005 | There's a potential plot job in here lying off a very nice weight having been qualified in a suspiciously short space of time without necessarily showing his hand. If PJH can provide us with Made In Japan, Detroit City, Fair Along and Liberate in the last few seasons, I think we can safely say he can train a juvenile? Do we think he can plot one up? I'd say so, he's been around long enough, so do we take one that looks to have disguised form and the requisite number of runs seriously at 33/1 NRNB? |

| The Iron Horse | Aaah Bruslini, a horse who had travel problems on his first run and only arrived at the track half an hour before they were due to run. That second to Torphicen looks a very decent effort indeed on the face of it (esp. if Torphicen wins the Supreme). I however have backed Miss Sarenne at 14-1 earlier in the week, and she has now been backed into around 8-1 generally. There was talk of JP buying this mare ahead of this race on McCoy's advice that he thought she'd win the Fred Winter. That doesn't seem to have happened yet, but the money has certainly come for her. Edit: Just checked her profile out on RP, and it would appear she is owned by J P McManus, very interesting!! Last edited by The Duke; 08-03-09 at 01:02 PM.. Reason: Mistake. |

| World Class Join Date: Sep 2005 | Given that his third run came about a week later at Taunton, which is just down the road from Minehead, one can't help wondering if Hobbs was simply getting him as low a mark as he could get away with, with a minimum amount of inconvenience or effort, as he seemed to saunter round with no particular sense of urgency, and to finish 32L's back in 4th having just run 5L's behinf Torphichen does look more than just a tad suspicious!!! Anyway, if he gets in, he's likely to be right at the bottom of the weights, and 33/1 looks worth taking a chance about with 4 places. Who knows, you might get the likes PP or Boyles paying on fifth yet if its a particularly big field. |
