I saw this site and thought it may serve the purpose. I have no connection with it. SQL Handicapping Software I have been in contact with the vendor and he may consider converting it to accept British format if there is enough interest. Below are my emails to him. Those who are leave a message on this thread and see how it goes. I like the look of your software, however I live in, snd follow U.K. racing Is it possible to import excel or comma delimited software instaed of BRIS many thanks Davey H Hi Davey, Thank you for the email. The BRIS result and data files are comma delimited as well, so it wouldn’t be too far off from being able to do this. However, there would be quite a bit of tweaking I would have to do before it could accept files with a different data arrangement. If you are able, send me a sample data and result file that you would use and I will take a look at it. Sincerely, Will DataReach Software LLC Hi will thanks for your quick reply. If I understand your software, provided it is set up to accept the file format required then I can build a database, insert my own ratings and recall them against todays runners and backcheck any system or method to check on its viability. At the moment your software is American or Australian based as it requires Bris files. I belong to a number of online racing groups here in the U.K. and there seems to be a growing interest in racing software such as yours. There is a lack of programmes here. but I think that racing enthusiasts here would want a programme that allows to inport our own files. e.g Excel, comma delimited or Access files without subscription.(sorry thats the way they are!) Racing software support is sadly lacking in the U.K. The amount of data availaible to you is far and away above the levels here The bookmakers and racing authorities are only interested in taking your money as quickly as possible for as little effort as possible. Race calls each quarter, sectional timing, horse weights etc are barely on the horizon here. I think you have an open market here if you pitch it right and if you feel you can can accomadate the British way of racing then I can canvas the members of my groups to see what info they would want in a British version to guage the interest before you start working on any adjustments to your programme. I am away on business for a few days and won't be available, but hopefully if you feel this would be a viable proposition then I will canvass my groups, seperate the bullshitters from the boys and see what interest we have. I don't want to inconvenience you for your time. many thanks Davey, Thank you for the email. If you find there is enough interest, as you mentioned there may be, I would be willing to create a custom project catered to the type of data and racing you do. I believe the basic functionality of the program could remain the same. Generally speaking, working with the SQL language is going to be pretty universal and players could adapt to the information they have once it is in the database. I guess at this point, get a feel for how many people you think would be interested, provide some data examples I could test, and then I will be able to determine if the investment would be worth it. Sincerely, Will So if you are interested then perhaps you can suggest or supply some data examples and Perhaps we can get ourselves a database and learning tool albeit at a small cost $139.99 All the best Davey H |
