To iPod or not.

OK tekkies.

I have been using a cheap battery (rechargable of course) powered MP3 player for the last few years, mainly have it in the van as it plugs into car radio, but it appears to have given up the ghost after this harsh winter,so I'm looking for something new.

Which or what is my best option? I use it with the earplugs occasionally but, as I say, mainly in the van.
Any advice appreciated.

I bought the Mrs the Ipod touch about a year ago and although and its awseome IMO I can't/won't get into the downloading on it and leave that to her but she does keep telling me its easy.I got a decent docking station and its as good as having a stereo in the house. She also has an adaption to use it in the car I don't know wether she brought it or it came with it back then they were quite pricey I thought but they may have come down a bit I don't really keep tabs on prices of material stuff thats her Job At the time it grieved me paying so much for a little tiny object but even I ( being a stingey git when it comes to parting with winnings) have to admit it was value and shes had and still having her moneys worth out of it.There are probably cheaper versions that do the same job for what you need mate but thats what we have and its the muts nuts.

Also brought the bab the Ipad for christmas and she hasn't been off it since which is a rarity because usually we buy her something for Xmas and shes bored of it within 2 minutes and it goes into the cupboard never to be seen again.I don't take any notice of such gadgets or get involved but I have to say the bab said to me try this game Dad after much protesting I gave it a go....Angry Birds...lost 2 weeks of my life in that instant couldn't put it down and still keep venturing back trying to get 3 stars on all levels, got about 4 versions of the game now and I do feel it should have come with some sort of Gam care style warning.Something along the lines of...Warning! Angry Birds will posess your brain on a level parralell to crack cocaine and may use up any spare time you have when you really know your head should be in the form books

I'm not the most knowledgable on the subject Tony but I'm sure one of the whippersnappers will be along shortly with some cracking advice
