I'm a full time HouseDaddy to a 3yr old and a 1yr old during the day, but on a night-time (after beds) I make my money by playing poker. Tournaments, not cash.

I used to play Footy Manager against my mate over the net, but once I discovered how much I could make playing poker that got knocked on the head.

If I have a night off, I play badminton or 5 a side, and I read A LOT! lol

For me, If I aint working one of my stupidly long treble shifts, my days off usually involve gyming it, then plenty of pornography and xbox!!

If the little lad is off I seem to have a great time. We do allsorts of activities, cycling, swimming, footballing, endless hours of lazytown!! Hence my nickname 'robbie rotten'!!

I also enjoy the odd dabble of drinking, gambling and 5-a-side but too be honest nothing beats spending time with the sprog!!

Don't have much time to do anything really. I'm at work for pretty much 12 hours a day. Most nights I get home just after 8pm, have me tea, go to bed and then do it all over again.

I used to play the guitar a lot until work took over. Enjoy the occasional bit of cooking. Also spend my spare time with our horse. Thats about it really

I went through a stage of a few months where I just played €5-€20 5-man STTs, top 2 paid, was up about €1400 then the Poker God decided it would be fun to river me whenever the chips went in and I had the best hand, so I stopped for a month and a bit, and since I've started again I've been playing mainly MTTs, mainly deepstack with value added.

[Only registered and activated users can see links. ] have a $109 buy in, $18k Gtd tourney every night, which I'm going to play a few of over the next fortnight or so to see how they go

32Red have a good tourney on a Wed and a Sat night (Be The Bounty) - $11 buyin plus a $10 add on at the break if you wish. $1.25k Gtd, and there's $325 in bounties on the top 3 of the previous tourney, plus they add other bits and pieces like satellite tickets every now and again

Good stuff hope you do well, i used to multi table pretty regularly, when the boom took off it would have been hard to find a bigger bonus whore than me
Every site offering 100% match on deposit between 200-500 and the competition was so fierce the conditions were just play x amount of raked hands which i could clear in a few hours multi tabling lost count how many sites i went through many died off now and the bonus restrictions are much tighter these days but it was fun and profitable while it lasted

I enjoy drinking, trying to chat up the ladies (and usually failing miserably due to drunkness).

I also quite enjoy being at home, playing computer games, watching TV and just generally enjoying life.

Used to do abit of fishing but found it got boring as I got older to the point where I can't stand it these days.

Away from Gambling i pretty much do the same as most people on here. I play hurling, so that takes up a lot of time between matches and training, but we do drink a lot as a team. For example one of the lads got his hand broken in 3 places a while back. So we took him out for a celebration, that started on the Friday evening, and ended up Monday morning with him missing his operation...Good times.

Other than that, I enjoy hunting and shooting, and nearly every sport, especially GAA and Rugby. Like a spot of Golf too.

Jay when trying to chat up the ladies you might want to show them your bank balance that should do the trick

Spend most of the time with the girl nowadays although the old party hat still has many years ahead of it. Go out with the lads on a regular basis to get smashed.

Going down to Birmingham or Manchester for a 21st soon so should be a good laugh.

Apart from that, I play pool for a local team, obviously like a bet here and there and I love my football.

Poker's not gambling

Sure it fcuks with your mind at times when your opponent's 2 outer hits on the river, but keep making those decisions and you'll win 95% of the time

Norton,

I found I won at poker more when I was younger, the more I have studied the game the less I have won at it. Don't get me wrong my STT profits are still pretty good but I was winning 400 odd quid a week when I was 16 and such. I know its not true but it honestly seems to me like the bad beats just consistently hit nowadays, don't play as much as I did a result.

I know that I suffer more 'bad beats' against worse hands than mine than I inflict them on others when my worse hands beat their better hands.

But I also know that is because, in general, when my chips go in the middle they do so when I have the better hand - therefore not putting me in the situation where I need to outdraw the villain(s).

So, naturally, the fact that I am more often in the situation where I am ahead lends itself to the fact that I will get outdrawn more often than I outdraw.

Do you follow?

I also know that for all the times I lose when I am 80% favourite, I will win four.

I catch your drift Norton I used to be a poker nut.I used to play on [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] alot but I stopped for a few reasons. One was the beats I know most bad players or losers would complain about beats but I recorded my hands and was only winning 36% of the time when I got my money in front as at least a 60-40 fav over a period of a year. The final straw for me was a run of tourneys 30 seater where I'd get to the final table and you may think this is bullshit but 11 final tables in a row I got either knocked out or had my stack dismantled when I had my opponent dominated AK v A7 for example or or when I had an overpair. Now I used to accept bad beats like you did as I know with the margins being so small there will be swings and roundabouts but 11 times on the bounce the odds of that are astronomical and there had been other runs to of 5/6 times on the bounce which again the odds were astronomical. It was happening far to regular to be true.

A mate of mine who plays a lot of poker but dosen't play online said about poker if you win for 2 years straight that dosen't make you a good poker player you could have just got lucky for 2 years.

I used to sharkscope guys and see that they were big time winners but watching them play over time I couldn't see they were any better than me in fact I used to see a few of them making real dodgy calls.

I'm glad you make it pay Norton and I hope you keep it up but I've washed my hands of it.

Mainly when not studying or betting, I'm trying to get rides for my jockeys.

Outside of work I tend to ride my horses, play hockey and sing in a local choir. I don't drink so nights out are limited and few and far between.
