I may be making a last minute dash to Haydock today as a couple of old school friends are going, however I'm undecided as to whether I want to spend an afternoon with them of I'm not going to make some money in the process. Thus I'm trying to study the card in enough detail and still allow enough time for the compulsory gym session, a trip into Uni to see my tutor and a flying visit home on the way down. I need all this done by, realistically, 1pm.

I've been shanghaied into a 40th (brothers) so it's unlikely, but I'll see what I can do, as he lives on a motorway junction, although my usual weather permitting restriction probably applies. In honesty I'd only make it 5%, but it is on my list of courses to do as I slowly continue to chip away at them

Off to Dieppe tonight for tomorrow's Grand-Steeplechase De Dieppe. Not sure how Grand it is but hoping that Olivia Des Bordes can return to something like her best form in the handicap hurdle - 16's on the tissue so someone's not that hopeful

Brother's to Ladalko and Mikael D'Haguenet are in tomorrow so looking forward to seeing them too

Give us a report! - sounds an interesting meeting

I'm going to some of the Cambridgshire meeting, not sure which days yet prob Thurs and Fri. Want to stay home Sat to watch the first day of the arc meeting. I'll also daf be at the Champions Day meeting

I went to Ripon recently for the first time and loved it - a great little course with everything very compact, great for the ladies in high heels. Good atmosphere and fair enough racing, and attractive buildings all encircling the PR which is right next to the PPR and only a short chute to the track. Great for horse-watching..

I just started betting regularly again after a longish break (except for big racedays), mainly due to having no wifi at home (now sorted). I'm breaking even but having a terrible run of seconditis, the worst being Total Gallery last Saturday - having been at the yard Open Day the previous weekend I knew how very badly they wanted that, and actually DID weep for them! - and for my betfair balance. Polly's Mark today just as gutting though not quite so costly I've been chinned by King Kieren more than once since he got back

Sorry forgot about this tread - I was at Wincanton last Sunday, Lingfield on Thursday - a great occasion! - and Wetherby on Saturday. I'm still driving in my sleep! - I don't know how the jocks and trainers do it every day

Also took in a visit to Paul Nicholls' yard on Monday - truly awesome: it's the most incredibly well-planned, well kept yard. Now I've patted KS and can die happy I was like some rock star groupie at the stage door, hanging around his box. He and Denman sure are totally different characters...

No racing this week but I'm pencilled in for the Hennessy - tho I'm trying to get out of that, it's too much of a bunfight for Newbury regulars! - the Cheltenham Open, and the November Sunday at Towcester, then the Peterborough in the first week of December. I think!

Hennessy meeting at Newbury Friday and Saturday, providing the pass comes through. Will be too busy Saturday for much socialising though!

Good luck guys

Only winner i had today was ALWAYS BOLD [ had a decent bet on him] who trounced the opposition and one to have an eye on next time is LOS NADIS who attracted a bit of support from 10's down to 7's before settling on 8's.
He went in front looking as they came into the home straight but lack of a recent run took it's toll and he wasn't hard pressed when beaten .

I've managed to land an owners pass for Wolverhampton on Monday. My mates niece is friends with an amatuer Jockey by the name of Joshua Pearce. He owns and rides Dudley docker. Hes given his owners passes to my mates niece and shes invited us along.I know a few people on here will have had experiences like this but i haven't, and never really expected to.I'm well up for it although I haven't got a clue what to expect.

Up the Docker

Me and this animal have a bit of history in betting terms and to be quite fair if I wasn't so excited about the day I wouldn't mind punching him on the nose but failing that I might just whisper a few obscenities in his ear

Presume this Apprentice is some relation of Jeff Pearce? - not his son I suppose, that's Simon

Anyway Wolves is a great place to start, there is very little if any division there between 'them and us' - so have a great time! I'm sure you will - good for you Broadsword, and it will be a night you will remember

Remember when i had Dudley to win at 20/1 at Lingfield, was having a class day at Newcastle races and must of had £50 + pound coins in my pocket and was stupidly betting as i wish pissed and this was the last race and decided to bet sensibly and just put £2 on it to win, didn't even no what odds it was tbf. Still won £40 and was well up for the day but always think why didnt i just put a tenner on it lol

Thanks Corbiere I don't think he is a relation of Jeff Pearce. From what my mates told me he used to be an assistant trainer to somebody but the money was awful.I don't know much more than that but I guess I'll find out more today.Just waiting for my mate to buzz and tell me hes ready and I'm off!

With regards the 2 lads who backed the beast at 20/1 this is the same occasion as I'd told all my mates to watch out for it next time out as it had really caught my eye in its previous runs and guess who missed it @20/1

If he wins today It'll be all I can do to resist chanting 'used to be shite , now hes alright, walking in a Dudley Wonderland '. I find it funny...I'm sad I know

Oh and if you see a little fat bald fella, looking very uncomfortable with trying to look smart and with a right spot on his head ( WTF I haven't had a spot since I was a teen) circling around The Docker and looking completely clueless as to whats going on...that'll be me then
