For me this is a very interesting claimer. I have shortlisted the front two horses in the market, Mutamared and Excusez Moi. Despite these being the most obvious, and perhaps, uninspired choices I think they are a class above all other opposition. Mutamared landed his hat-trick nine days ago and I am pleased to say that I was on when he won last time out over 6 furlongs at today's track. With him being in such great form, it will be intriguing to see if he can make it four in a row over an extra furlong which I think will suit. Having said that I will be siding with EXCUSEZ MOI who is taking a considerable drop down in class. He was highly tried in last years flat season having ran in several Group 3 races. Since then he's seen a change of yard and has ran to decent form in a couple of class 2 handicaps at Southwell. It's refreshing to see that the new connections have now decided to take a much more realistic option with him. He steps into what can only be described as the weakest race he has ever contested in, under conditions which are bound to suit. Excusez Moi is officially rated a massive 20lbs superior to Mutamared, but will only be conceiding 3lbs to him in the weights. This race could be just what the doctor ordered for him to blow the cob webs away. Last edited by Maximus Decimus Meridius; 23-01-09 at 01:23 AM.. |

Inconsistant to say the least since the summer, and was some way below his best in two outings in 5f/7f handicaps at Southwell, most notably on Tuesday, since leaving Clive Brittain. Despite this it appears that this surface suits him better, and back in poorer company and with Liam Jones on board, he'll go close. 3:05 Doncaster: Motarid Hugely disappointing on his debut at Hexham when he cleared didn't fancy it but made a much better go of things with blinkers back on when narrowly beaten by a subsequent winner over C&D last month. Taking a slight chance as he's not 100% reliable yet but that latest effort has convicned me that he'll be there or thereabouts if the headgear inspires him again. 3:25 Lingfield: Stand Guard Tricky race on paper, but I've gone for this horse who was a fast improver before the turn of year, securing a hatrick in good style at Kempton. Off a higher mark he's been unable to add to those since, but he's put in some nice efforts each time and might have done even better with a better ride lto. Handicapper is nearly on top of him, but he has solid claims. |

It might have been the wife's birthday or summat... Joe is tiny too - there's no-where for it to go LOL Anyway some people's bodies take longer for it to clear than others. I recall that Graded race in Sweden or somewhere last summer, when Seb Sanders failed a booze test the day after the Shergar Cup meeting - he'd prob had a glass of the course champagne as they put on a do for all participants, and then he had dinner out with his wife, nothing serious. It wasn't enough to get him a driving ban! Jockeys used to ride half cut most of the time in the old days, esp over the sticks, and didn't fall off any more than they do now. Now there is a zero limit Btw I'm glad I backed Mutamared before I read this thread ![]() ![]() Any thoughts on Wolves tonight? I've only done a few obviosu FCTs so far |
